Thermo King Announces Plant Expansion and Celebrates 30 Years in Hastings
When Thermo King Corporation was looking to expand its manufacturing operations in the early 1980s, company executives evaluated over 100 locations.
But the place where they found everything they needed, a top-notch work force, energy costs among the lowest in the nation, assistance in reducing start-up costs, and more was Hastings, Nebraska
In 2011, when looking to consolidate operations, Thermo King looked to Hastings once again. In August, Ingersoll-Rand officials announced that the Hastings facility would be the recipient of new product lines which would bring nearly 100 new jobs to the community over the course of the next year.
As part of the expansion, Hastings Utilities has committed to a $600,000 performance-based forgivable loan to help Thermo King in facility renovations, attracting new employees, and acquiring new machinery and equipment.
